Future Leaders Testimonial

The Future Leaders programme has provided me with many new skills such as reflecting on my leadership styles in a different view and how I can adapt in situations to accommodate the needs of the situation.
Throughout the course we complete impact actions reflecting upon each aspect of our cohort. I have recognised the improvements within my setting and my own team and still refer to these to date.
An example of this would be when I learned about the 'Tuckman Stages'. Throughout team working we all go through transitional stages, I often refer to this learning when supporting my team as it is a great tool to encourage reflection and honest communication.
Other room leaders and management take on any pointers I have taken from the course and we look at ways in our practice in which we can use these. I am enjoying being able to use these skills I am learning in my own professional development within my career.

The Future Leaders programme came at the right time for me professionally and has been great way of boosting my CPD. It's really been inspiring to talk to colleagues within the company who come from different areas. The programme has opened my eyes to different viewpoints and has given me a wealth of knowledge that I have used and passed on within my nursery. I believe I am now able to have more impactful conversations with staff, I am able to handle situations differently and I feel a lot more confident in my practice. The future leaders programme has had a big impact on the way I work and I look forward to continuing to make positive changes within the workplace.
