Montessori Elementary Education

Our Montessori elementary school education program (ages 6-12) draws upon the independence of the student, encouraging self-directed study and independent research while developing skills and knowledge through one-on-one instruction and small group lessons. Using a combination of Montessori and traditional education materials and practices, students learn how to make decisions, solve problems, and manage their time within the context of academics.

Preschool Montessori Program

Children’s House, our Montessori preschool (or pre-primary) program, supports the 3- to 6-year-old child’s natural inclination to seek out a wide array of life skills and cognitive abilities. In this mixed-aged preschool classroom, the Montessori hands-on learning approach includes relevant curriculum areas for this stage – motor skills, socialization, self-esteem, independence, a sense of order, concentration, and cooperation – as well as an atmosphere that allows children to develop at their own pace.

Special Programs

Brookfield Academy encourages children to discover who they are and to pursue their own interests. Our special classes foster a child’s desire for new challenges and opportunities that celebrate their expanding world. Each of these classes are taught by special teacher. Special classes vary by age level at each of our three Michigan campuses.

Montessori Toddlers Program

The first few years of a child’s life are an extraordinary period of cognitive and emotional growth, brain development, and language acquisition. In Brookfield Academy’s Montessori toddler child care program, each child is nurtured as a unique individual and given varied opportunities to learn and grow.
