Our Interview Process

We do incredibly important work thus our interviewing and hiring process is thorough. Here’s an overview of what you can expect:
Recruiter Screening

Recruiter Screening

Once you submit a completed application, a member of our talent acquisition team will review your information. If your listed education and experience match the posted requirements, a recruiter will contact you within 5 business days to schedule a screening (held either by phone or online via MS Teams). Please regularly check the phone and email listed on your application, as our team will use those to schedule your screening.

Interview

Candidates who successfully pass the recruiter screener will be scheduled for an interview, typically with the hiring manager, although other Bright Horizons employees may also participate. Interviews for our center-based and corporate positions are generally conducted in person (corporate positions that are fully remote may have virtual interviews). Interviewing is a two-way process, providing us the opportunity to learn about you as a potential colleague and allowing you to understand more about us and the impact you can make here. The interviewer(s) will ask you to share examples from your experience and will provide details about the role you applied for, as well as answer any questions you may have. Certain positions may require only one interview, while others may involve multiple stages. Your recruiter will keep you informed throughout the interview process, which can take between 1 to 2 weeks.
Pre-Employment Process

Pre-Employment Process 

After an offer is made and accepted, our pre-employment process includes obtaining professional references for specific corporate roles and all center-based positions to comply with state and local licensing requirements. A satisfactory Bright Horizons background check result is required for all candidates, whether a new hire or a rehire. Additionally, some positions require further checks, such as drug testing and education verification to meet state, local, or client requirements. The Talent Acquisition team will inform you of the background check requirements for the position you applied for.
